9 & 10: Aug 9-22, 2021
At the start of these two weeks, Naomi turned nine weeks old. By the end, she was turning 11 weeks old, and life was really starting to accelerate. Naomi went to her second wedding, for two other very dear friends, and saw her first Irish dance performance. She got more time with both sets of grandparents and met her second uncle, Kiyoshi. She developed an adorable and creepy laugh - a heh, heh, heh when she finds things amusing. She has very powerful legs and can worm her way several inches along the ground, sometimes with her head lifted and sometimes not so much.
- How Could She, by Lauren Mechling (1)
- Did not finish. Found it very tedious honestly
- The Lost City of the Monkey God, by Douglas Preston (2.5)
- I didn't finish this, although I read more than half. But what I read I liked. There was just...more of it than I needed. It's a nonfiction account of some top-notch exploring of ancient village sites in South America. Lots of crazy snakes.
- Bunny, by Mona Awad (1)
- Yikes, I didn't finish this either. It's very weird and the strange writing style was off-putting.
I'm also re-reading and heavily annotating Braiding Sweetgrass (Robin Wall Kimmerer) (4) for work (teaching) which will be a multi-week process and is extremely satisfying - I love this book so much.
